We have 141 contributors to bitcoin core in roughly the last 12ish months for github.com/bitcoin/bitcoin going back to v24.1
I just realized I'm denoted as one of them on the 26 release. 😅 Many like me may only have trivial commits, but it's still pretty cool to be associated along some very talented people.
26 contributors are active on 3+ releases in the 12 months. I'm planning an award ceremony at @TABConf 8 - Oct 12-15, 2026 ATL this year to help bring to light some of the hard work done behind the scenes for Bitcoin and related projects. Starting the tradition this year.
Let's try to see if I can put Nostr to work:
I'll send sats to every valid suggestion.
If you were giving out 3 awards for bitcoin that were technical in nature, which categories would you come up with?
Bonus sats if you come up with 4 candidates for your proposed achievement categories.
I would really like for a bunch of hardcore nostr hackers to come to TABConf this year, please spread the word, and show some love give a follow to our TABConf account. @TABConf 8 - Oct 12-15, 2026 ATL
Inevitability needs action to become reality. Don't sit on your hands and do nothing, come build the future you want to see. October 23-26, we will have a focused builders conference in Atlanta GA. please don't make an arbitrary excuse not to come. We also have a grant program for those who need it.
- Action over ego's. Come to learn, come to build.
- Critical thinking and criticism towards Bitcoin.
- Respect for people's time, no unsolicited pitches.
- Chaotically fun and productive.
- Decentralized organized in an opensource manner.
- Affordable and all-inclusive access.
- Newer achievers are brought to the forefront.
See you Oct 23. @TABConf 8 - Oct 12-15, 2026 ATL

The first block to fill over 99% of the maximum space, 1 MB, was block: 228,538. (2013-March-29).
It wasn't until, block 363,270 (2015-June-30), over 2 years later, that a perfectly full 1,000,000 byte block was mined.

Block 2,513 was the 1st with a timestamp (ts) behind the previous block. Block 2,512’s ts was 10s ahead. This is allowed as ts must be > median of the last 11 blocks and < NetAdjTime + 2 hours.
