Do we really need an event type for every object on earth?

The people yearn for terminals. They yearn for transparent and honest “pay per usage” business models. Nostr terminals will be a thing. Assume compromised terminal, design around that. image

GNU Taler is insanely bad. It promotes user privacy over and against user ownership. Since when do GNU people make that trade-off? Do they justify it by an irrational hatred of Proof of Work crypto?

I can’t emphasize enough how important it is for Nostr devs to be willing to rethink the standard “timeline” UX. Just show a list of people in order of most to least recently active (like Fraidycat), or make something similar oriented around relays (a map of places you know about and how bumpin they are with activity?). It’s hard to overstate how sick of the timeline normies are. They’re fatigued. The answer isn’t just “timeline without an algorithm” @Constant

Are there any nostr web apps that use “no backend” architecture? To me, that is a major selling point of nostr, but it seems that not many are taking advantage of it.

There’s a number of NIPs that add larger amounts of complexity. I don’t like it when they do that

You know, Unison might be the answer to LLM slop. When each function is content-addressable, with a strong meaningful type system, code becomes actually re-usable. So the only code you’re writing is meaningful (theoretically). Feels less scammy than figuring out how to get free crap from an LLM and shovel it onto a greater fool. View quoted note →

If Nostr UX was more like putting up posters/flyers around in various places, people would get a better idea of the expectations around deletions and what that entails View quoted note →

Has anyone re-discovered the joy of programming recently? If so, how? I think it would have to be something like a quiet, small, interesting language. Maybe Factor, Pharo, Zig? View quoted note →

Realistically, how does @npub1tkey...wral stop a wrench attack? They require you contact your recovery helpers if you want to spend more than X amount? Important thoughts for Bitcoin Vegas coming up

Computer programming genuinely isn’t fun anymore. The leet coders and LLM slop ruined it.
