Hello Everyone, Today let's explore why many people around the world think Bitcoin is a scam. Below are 20 common reasons behind this perception, with explanations and proposed solutions: 1. Lack of Education Reason: Many don’t understand how Bitcoin works. Solution: Expand Bitcoin education using beginner-friendly courses and real-life examples. 2. Scams in Bitcoin’s Name Reason: Ponzi schemes and frauds falsely use Bitcoin to trick people. Solution: Spread awareness and distinguish Bitcoin from scam projects. 3. Media Misinformation Reason: Media headlines often associate Bitcoin with crime or loss. Solution: Share facts, success stories, and responsible use cases. 4. Volatility Reason: Rapid price changes make people nervous. Solution: Educate that Bitcoin is still maturing and volatility is natural early on. 5. Rug Pulls and Shitcoins Reason: Altcoin scams often get confused with Bitcoin. Solution: Teach the difference between Bitcoin and other crypto assets. 6. Lack of Tangibility Reason: No physical form makes it hard for people to trust. Solution: Use relatable analogies like mobile money or online banking. 7. Technical Barriers Reason: Wallets, private keys, and nodes confuse new users. Solution: Provide easy-to-use wallets and user guides. 8. No Government Backing Reason: People trust government-issued money. Solution: Explain how decentralized money is more secure from corruption. 9. Loss Stories Reason: People hear about lost BTC due to poor wallet practices. Solution: Emphasize wallet safety and backup tips. 10. No Refund or Reversal Reason: Bitcoin transactions are final. Solution: Educate users on double-checking and secure sending practices. 11. Celebrity Scams Reason: Fake endorsements fool many. Solution: Warn people about fake promotions and always verify. 12. Regulatory Concerns Reason: Some governments call it illegal or risky. Solution: Highlight countries that support responsible Bitcoin use. 13. Dark Web Usage Reason: Bitcoin’s early use in illegal markets gives it a bad name. Solution: Explain how it’s now widely used for good – from remittances to saving. 14. Get-Rich-Quick Mentality Reason: People buy hoping to become rich overnight. Solution: Promote long-term understanding, not hype. 15. Influencer Misguidance Reason: Uninformed influencers mislead followers. Solution: Encourage following trusted educators and Bitcoin-only platforms. 16. Complexity of Self-Custody Reason: Fear of losing funds due to tech mistakes. Solution: Promote custodial alternatives with clear pros/cons. 17. Association with Crypto Scandals Reason: When other coins crash or exchanges fail, Bitcoin is blamed too. Solution: Educate that Bitcoin is decentralized and not owned by companies. 18. Confusion With MLM Schemes Reason: MLMs use “Bitcoin” as bait for scams. Solution: Clarify Bitcoin’s actual use and warn about MLM frauds. 19. Environmental Concerns Reason: Misunderstanding about Bitcoin mining and energy use. Solution: Share facts on mining efficiency, renewable use, and long-term benefits. 20. Fear of Change Reason: People are used to traditional banking and fear new systems. Solution: Ease them in with relatable stories and step-by-step guidance. Conclusion: Most fears come from misinformation, lack of experience, and scams using Bitcoin’s name. The solution is education, clarity, and building trust through transparency, Let’s continue sharing honest knowledge to orange-pill more people. image

Hello Bitcoiners, Did you know that currently in Tanzania 🇹🇿 we have 39 Bitcoin Merchants that accept Bitcoin payments — both on-chain and via the Lightning Network — and all these merchants are live and listed on btcmap.org? So, what exactly is btcmap.org? BTC Map is a global, open-source map that helps Bitcoin users locate merchants and service providers who accept Bitcoin as a method of payment. Whether it’s restaurants, tech shops, barbershops, tour companies, or retailers — if they accept Bitcoin, they can be added and displayed on btcmap.org . The platform is completely community-driven and non-commercial, created to support Bitcoin adoption globally. BTC Map empowers users to discover, support, and onboard local businesses into the Bitcoin economy. It uses geolocation and tagging so users can easily find nearby places that accept Bitcoin, making it easier for tourists, expats, or locals to spend sats. BTC Map also integrates with OpenStreetMap and allows anyone to contribute by adding or verifying new merchants. This builds transparency, real-time updates, and fosters a collaborative movement of circular Bitcoin economies around the world — including right here in Tanzania. The fact that 39 businesses in Tanzania have joined this platform is a big win for local Bitcoin adoption, especially for those pushing Lightning Network education and usage. It’s time we not only celebrate this but also onboard more businesses to grow this network. Let’s encourage more Tanzanian entrepreneurs to accept Bitcoin and get listed. Let’s build a Bitcoin economy that is local, global, borderless, and unstoppable! Visit: www.btcmap.org and explore merchants near you! #BitcoinTanzania #BTCMap #LightningNetwork #SpendBitcoin #BitcoinAdoption #SupportLocal image

Hello 👋 Bitcoiners, Greetings from Tanzania 🇹🇿 I’m excited to officially start using satlantis — a fun, interactive, and Bitcoin-powered Minecraft server that allows players to earn real sats (satoshis) by completing missions and exploring the Bitcoin-themed world. Satlantis combines gaming, learning, and Bitcoin education in one immersive platform. It’s an innovative way to orange-pill gamers and onboard the next generation of Bitcoiners through entertainment. In Satlantis, players can mine Bitcoin blocks, complete challenges, earn rewards, and engage in a vibrant community — all while learning more about how Bitcoin works in a fun and practical environment. The sats earned in the game can be withdrawn to real Lightning wallets, making it not just a game but a real opportunity to stack sats while playing. This is a powerful step in combining education and fun to promote financial literacy and digital empowerment across the globe — and I’m proud to represent Tanzania in this movement. ✨ New Week. New Goals. More Sats. Let’s stay focused, stay orange-pilled, and keep building a future of financial freedom powered by Bitcoin. Part 2: Problems with Tanzania’s Fiat Money System Tanzania, like most countries, uses fiat money —the Tanzanian Shilling (TZS)—which is issued and controlled by the central bank (BoT). While fiat money is convenient, it comes with serious challenges: 1. Inflation & Loss of Value - Over the years, the value of the Shilling has declined. - Prices of goods (e.g., food, rent, transport) keep rising while salaries often *stay the same. - This erodes savings and weakens purchasing power. Example: A loaf of bread that cost TZS 500 in 2010 might cost TZS 1,200+ in 2025. 2. Lack of Financial Freedom - Centralized systems mean your bank account can be frozen. - Transactions can be censored or delayed. - Limits on how much you can withdraw or send abroad. 3. Limited Banking Access - Millions in rural areas still lack access to banks. - Banking hours and paperwork slow down access to financial tools. 4. Corruption and Mismanagement - Misuse of public funds and inflationary money printing can devalue the currency. - Lack of transparency in how money is managed at national level. 5. Dependency on External Institutions Tanzania’s economy is heavily tied to the dollar and international lenders like IMF/World Bank. - When USD strengthens, TZS weakens. 6. High Transaction Fees & Delays - Sending money, especially cross-border (e.g., to Kenya or Uganda), is costly. - Mobile money fees + banking fees reduce the value received. Conclusion: These challenges show why alternatives like *Bitcoin* are gaining attention in Tanzania — more secure, borderless, and not controlled by governments. image

Great! Let's begin with Part 1: What is Money & Evolution of Money — clearly explained, well-structured, and relevant to both global and Tanzanian contexts. Part 1: What is Money? Money is a tool humans use to store value, measure value, and exchange value. It's not just coins or paper—it can be anything a society agrees to use for trade. Money helps eliminate the inefficiencies of barter (e.g., "I'll give you maize if you give me shoes"). Functions of Money: 1. Medium of Exchange – Used to buy and sell goods/services. 2. Unit of Account – Measures the value of items. 3. Store of Value – Keeps its value over time for future use. 4. Standard of Deferred Payment – Used to settle debts. Evolution of Money: 1. Barter System (Prehistoric) - Direct trade: goods for goods. - Problem: Double coincidence of wants (e.g., a fisherman may need salt, but the salt trader may not want fish). 2. Commodity Money - Items like salt, shells, cattle, beads used because they were widely accepted. - Gold and silver became popular due to durability and divisibility. 3. Metal Coins (Ancient Civilizations) - Minted coins from gold/silver/copper used in Rome, Greece, China, etc. - Kings and empires issued coins with guaranteed weight and purity. 4. Paper Money (Medieval to Modern Era) - China was first (Tang & Song Dynasties). - In Europe, promissory notes and banknotes followed. - Backed by gold/silver initially (Gold Standard). 5. Fiat Money (20th Century) - No intrinsic value, not backed by gold. - Value comes from government declaration. - Tanzanian Shilling is fiat money. 6. Digital & Cryptocurrency (21st Century) - Mobile money (M-Pesa), online banking, and now Bitcoin & blockchain-based assets. - Money without borders, censorship, or inflation control. image

During the @Plan ₿ Network Biz School 2025 session on the topic “Bitcoin Jobs,” tutor @Giacomo Zucco delivered an insightful and practical lesson on how individuals can position themselves professionally in the growing Bitcoin ecosystem. Giacomo began by explaining that Bitcoin is not just a technology, but a new financial revolution that is already creating diverse employment opportunities worldwide — ranging from technical roles like developers and node runners, to non-technical roles such as educators, content creators, translators, marketers, designers, event organizers, and support agents. He emphasized the importance of understanding Bitcoin deeply, no matter the role. According to him, the best Bitcoin professionals are not only skilled in their areas but also strong Bitcoiners with foundational knowledge of its philosophy, history, and mission. Giacomo highlighted how decentralized, open-source Bitcoin culture encourages self-starting, learning in public, and contributing to communities. He also pointed out platforms and organizations hiring within the space like BitcoinerJobs.com and others ,also Giacomo advising students to volunteer, start building a Bitcoin-focused portfolio, and network online and offline. He shared how even small contributions, like translating educational materials or creating Bitcoin-themed content, can open doors to full-time roles. Giacomo’s session was both motivating and strategic — guiding students to see the wide range of career paths available and how to step into them intentionally.

In the @Plan ₿ Network Biz School 2025 class session, the topic “Building Profitable Bitcoin Businesses” was led by none other than @ODELL, a respected voice in the Bitcoin ecosystem. @ODELL brought his extensive experience and deep understanding of the Bitcoin space to guide students on how to create sustainable, mission-aligned businesses that contribute to the growth of Bitcoin adoption while remaining profitable. He emphasized the importance of value creation over hype, encouraging entrepreneurs to solve real-world problems within local contexts, especially in the Global South. Matt spoke about how Bitcoin businesses should be rooted in long-term thinking, aligning with Bitcoin’s ethos of decentralization, censorship resistance, and user sovereignty. He shared examples of successful Bitcoin-first businesses, from wallets to payment processors to educational platforms, that maintain a focus on self-custody, privacy, and open-source collaboration. Importantly, Matt highlighted that profitability should not come at the cost of user freedom — instead, businesses should empower users and communities. @ODELL also guided students through practical steps: defining a clear mission, identifying a specific user problem, building trust with users, and using lean startup principles to test and iterate. He encouraged participants to collaborate, open-source when possible, and remain committed to Bitcoin values even when pursuing financial sustainability. This session was a true eye-opener for many aspiring Bitcoin entrepreneurs in the cohort, leaving them inspired and better equipped to build meaningful and profitable ventures in the Bitcoin ecosystem. #BitcoinBusiness #MattOdell #PlanBBizSchool #BitcoinAfrica #FinancialSovereignty
