Good night, NOSTR Friends! I hope your day was filled with good things and you sleep well. It was a long day for me. Not many things got done, but I consider the things I did to be good things. Our family celebrated a belated Father’s Day with my dad and my wife’s parents. Then I tilled my inlaws’ soil so they can plant their garden. And we rescued a small (5”) painted turtle that was crossing the road. (I thought it was only chickens that crossed the road…?) we moved her off the road and into the woods. I think it was the first time I’ve touched a turtle. Then, after we got home, I researched several questions related to furnaces in flooded basements, drying flooded basements, and replacing flooded/dead freezers. There’s more, but I won’t bore you. Good morning, NOSTR Friends! Happy Saturday. Today is day two since my basement flooded & killed 2x freezers. The water is pumped out and the pump will be put away today. The drain is functioning now, so I think we’re OK. Now comes carrying out flood-damaged stuff, and rinsing wet canned goods. I’ll call the insurance company soon, to see what/if is covered. Since it is now officially summer😀, the temp is supposed to climb to a high of 91 today with a mix of clouds and sun, and it will be breezy. I have some other things to do, so I’ll close by wishing you a productive and happy weekend. Spend time with your family, and, if you’re so inclined, go the church and listen to the words of your Creator.

The water has drained from our basement, and my family was able to do their normal routine after the locksmith worked his magic! Overall things that needed to be done, were done, and not one for hurt. So, I’ll just be thankful for the good things. Y’all sleep well!!!

Good morning, NOSTR Friends! Happy Friday! I hope you’re well. It is sunny (beautiful) and 75 outside now, and The Weather Channel says our high temp today will be 85 here in northern Ohio. It will probably a great day to go to Cedar Point. Yesterday was a beautiful day. I went to Sandusky to buy a utility pump to move over a foot of water from my basement (recent rain storms) and I locked our only key & fob in our vehicle.🙄🙁 I’m kinda handy with mechanical things so I wasted a few hours trying to break into a vehicle I own. That moment of carelessness is going to cost me $75 to have a professional open the vehicle. Loose your keys… So, since I was playing outside with the vehicle til ~4AM, I can already tell today is gonna seem really long. Have a great day, Friends! Work hard, and do good work. Good morning, NOSTR Friends! I hope you’re well. Th birds are chirping happily this mornin. I woke up to my youngest saying that rain was coming in the bathroom window (also my bedroom window). Now I’m getting ready for the day. I’m looking forward to my coffee. ☕️ I haven’t made my list for the day yet, so, beyond making coffee, I’m not sure that I’ll be doing. We started the week with no rain in the next two weeks’ forecasts, but ended up with over 2” of rain across both days. Oddly, even with that amount of rain it seems as if the lake in our basement is going down! Hopefully the floor will be dry tomorrow or the next day. I just made my coffee ☕️and a big travel mug of mint tea to start my day. The water 🌊in the basement is still there. I didn’t try to see how deep it is, but I might do that later… I plan to do some reading and studying this morning, then put the ducks out in their area. Have a great day, Friends! Good night, NOSTR friends! I hope your day was good - packed with a lot of accomplishments. My day good, though I had an unpleasant surprise when I went into my basement this morning to get some ground beef out of the freezer for my wife. There were 4” of water on the basement floor. The water was 2” above the base of our new furnace; it was above the base of our freezers and dehumidifier, numerous items, boxes, and totes were overturned; and I believe most of those items are lost. I checked to see if the drain is blocked, but it is not. I think when we received that 3.5” of rain it raised the water table and flooded the basement. Sleep well, my Friends! Tomorrow will be here soon enough, and we do our work again. If you think of them, and if you mare so inclined - no matter your politics - you might say a prayer for the people in Israel & Iran whose lives are being impacted by the current war, and for wisdom and safety for those who are executing the war. Exciting news can be good, or it can be bad. My morning excitement is that I went to the basement and discovered 3” of uninvited water 🌊🐟🛶🐋 on the floor! 🚣‍♂️ we got a lot of rain this past weekend, but this is the most water I’ve seen in the basement (in the 10 years we’ve been here). I had intended to work outside, but my plans suddenly changed. This is my first experience with a flooded basement. Stay dry, my friends!!

Good morning, NOSTR Friends! I hope you woke up refreshed and ready to take on Monday. It is pretty outside and I hear various songbirds singing. So pretty! I picked the strawberries 🍓 last night, and ate them. I was hungry, and the tasted good. All the other strawberries from this spring are in the freezer, sooo…why not? 😈🤡 The Weather Channel is forecasting mostly sunny skies today with a high temperature of 89 degrees in northern Ohio. I’m going to make a pot of coffee ☕️ in a couple of minutes, set the ducks free for the day, and head out to my favorite weed patch (it used to be my garden…), to pull the weeds around my garlic, rhubarb and red raspberries.
