i am greatly amused by the melancholy non Americans who are irritated by us joyfully celebrating beating the shit out of the British, and risking setting up our own thing.

i have a weird thing in my American ancestry. we came over very early. one of my Norse/Scottish ancestors was enslaved by one of the Iroquois confederacy tribes for 5 years before he escaped.
