I had never even considered what was it that Americans stuff their Thanksgiving turkeys with. So that's it then. I won't judge, I'm always food-curious. View quoted note →

BTW, this all happened before 1971. So the millions of dollars wasted were hard dollars backed by gold. Real money (even if not as hard and real as before Executive Order 6102). View quoted note →

After pushing the most vile and repulsive campaign add I've ever seen (the one asking married women to humiliate and lie to their husbands for Kamala), apparently these couple of days the message of the lock-step propaganda apparatus is that the Cult has decreed punishment of Separation against family members and friends who dared vote for Trump. I've said this until extenuation: the Wokes are identical to an extreme religious cult. They even copy the Shunning typical of crazy cults like the Amish, Jehovah's Witnesses, many individual Evangelical churches and, of course, Scientology. It's always been clear to me that the Woke are the other side of the coin of the "Born Again" neocon crazies that initiated the Culture Wars in the 90's. They are their literal and metaphorical children. They are a reaction to them, but without leaving the same frame of mind and the same culture.

I can happily and smugly say that I was Saylor before Saylor, in that case. Undoubtedly, he caught wind and decided to copy me. View quoted note →

But double and triple check that you can upgrade the hardware first. It happened to me with my 2016 Toshiba laptop when I tried to set up my node that I found out couldn't upgrade my RAM and my SSD. View quoted note →

Putin not only sending the subhuman cannon fodder from the colonies and from North Korea to do the dying for him, he sends his CCP cronies to do his covert ops for him too.

They put it there to keep the price suppressed for a while. It'll fall when it's convenient for whoever is funding it. I expect a few more weeks of chop. View quoted note →

Over here in Catalonia, even my most libertarian-leaning friends, can't get past the mental hurdle of imagining a world where healthcare is not managed and delivered by the state, funded by theft. It's always "fuck taxes" until "but who will build the cancer wards?" It's the ultimate scam by the system, and the vilest of the predatory lies they keep people in line with, using the most intimate fear people have -- dying unattended of an otherwise treatable sickness.

One little tangent that I've pondered about for a long time and this convo here about BlueSky etc reminded me: A lot of people (like these two in the video) argue that people go to social media "for the exchange of ideas", and that the more debate and variety, the more value a platform has (or so they seem to imply). I would instinctively tend to agree... but not completely. I think there are some people who look for that, let's say as a replacement for TV, newspapers, etc. or simply for the sport of it. But I also think there is a significant portion of the public that may look for "community". I think these are two fundamentally at odds functions and audiences. Perhaps we need separation of Debate and Community. View quoted note →
