at the turn of the millennium less than one out of 50 Chinese had a car.

China added 100 million cars on the road in just the last 5 years ...
they produced 35 million cars last year ...
in other words last year China made 10 times more cars than the total number of private passenger vehicles in China was in the year 2000
at this point American style suburbs are still rare in China but i can't see how this can remain the case for very much longer with number of cars increasing at this rate ...
once Chinese start building the kind of suburbs that i live in now in Orlando it will be time to move there ...
