My father (85) is in the hospital. I warned him for years about the risks of diabetes, but he didn’t listen. He ate junk food, consumed sugar, and even drank energy drinks—thinking they helped him regain energy. Last Friday, he ended up in the ER with a diagnosis of type II diabetes. His blood sugar was over 300 mg/dL, and who knows for how long it had been that high. We all know what prolonged hyperglycemia does to the body - it slowly destroys cells and tissues.
It’s sad, but not surprising.
Now, I’m doing everything I can to help my mother (61). I’ve been educating her for years, introducing her to keto, and today she sent me this message:
“Here is my dinner, son.”
I couldn’t be happier.
