Amor Fati (Love of Fate) (Stoic)
Amor fati means loving what happens—not in a naive way, but as a choice to accept and use whatever life brings. Nietzsche borrowed it from the Stoics. Marcus Aurelius wrote of accepting the twist of fate and making it material for virtue. Gratitude is a close cousin: we don't just endure the day; we find something in it to appreciate. We turn "why did this happen?" into "what can I do with this?" and "what here can I thank?"
"Accept the things to which fate binds you, and love the people with whom fate brings you together."
— Marcus Aurelius, Meditations IV 23
