And damn have I MISSED it, and all of you 🫂 I know there are probably half a dozen “loose end” threads with a thoughtful note/reply that I never answered, from at least a few frens. Yo @ODELL - on the recent CD with @craigraw and Steve (npub?) you were discussing the difficulty of calculating the amount of Bitcoin to hold in vaulted storage for #cashu mint runners, in order to remain liquid enough to service all the users’ transactions without running into issues. Wouldn’t this just (roughly) be the same kind of calculation that traditional banks make, when identifying the fractional percentage of deposits to keep on hand vs lend out? Or is it so easy for banks to get extra fiatellos from a central bank that they needn’t worry? Even so, if a mint were in a pinch, they would presumably have cold storage (non-vault) stack with which they could purchase ecash via a swap to cover edge cases while still protecting the majority of funds from a hack/rug… Ultimately y’all are right: there’s plenty of time to develop creative solutions. But at least the math probably exists already - just need to ask a banker to compare notes. My two sats 🫡

Killer updates on the newest @Damus TestFlight releases. Very nice work, @jb55 & co! @Terry Yiu and @Daniel D’Aquino been shipping hard lately, from the look of it! Also, you guys recently fixed one of the biggest friction points: when drafting a note, then switching to another app, the client would often crash when you return and lose whatever work you started. Crashing seems more rare, restarts are faster, and MY DRAFTED NOTE WAS SAVED 😍 I can’t overstate how much I appreciate this one 🙏🫂⚡️🤙 (I know saving was on the last release, but this is the first time it’s worked after a crash, as far as I know). Appreciate you 🤜💥🤛
