If I had spent the last decades investing my profits from Uber or running Box and then realized it was all being debased, I’d be pretty depressed too. But it’s never too late to start stacking sats. View quoted note →

Does any client support recommended follow lists? Could be implemented with public sets and even build a WoT based mapping between pubkeys and Twitter handles (and others) View quoted note →

Revokable subkeys will be a need for sure. It’s a matter of time until a bad client (intentionally or not) leaks a bunch of nsecs. The dual stack approach sounds reasonable, but could also demand a lot from devs, when there are still few clients that reached maturity. I think the path forward would be to have a prototype client with this dual stack approach, to learn how to do it as painlessly as possible. It would also give time for more clients to stabilize before they need to think about this. But obviously, that will require someone’s time. Focusing too much on which breaking changes to adopt would make it a harder and longer discussion than what the upgrade approach should be, assuming people agree that breaking changes will at some point be required. “Luck is the residue of design.” But it’s not always your design. Best example is the place where you were born. Obviously you didn’t choose that, but a country is better to be born in than another due to good decisions/design from your ancestors. Some stuff is dictated by nature and there’s nothing you can do about it. Most stuff is actually your past decisions, conscious or not. Accept them and learn. View quoted note →

Having news bots here is cool, but just reminded me of why I stopped following corporate media news. Back to chill nostr.

Nostr briefly mentioned in Joe Rogan. Not to compliment it, but I guess any publicity is good publicity...

I always supported the EU for what it initially meant: free trade, free movement (including the option to easily “vote with your feet”), cooperation, basically promoting freedom and peace. It has veered off so much from that path that I became very neutral… and that’s mostly cause I know many national governments would be even worse without EU restrictions, and fear that century old conflicts would resurface without it.
