A great in dept analysis and comparison of #Europe and #US regulation platform, the economy grows in. The great thing about this analysis is, that it is differentiating. Not going for oversimplified populist statements. It acknowledges, that more regulations might hurt some but benefit others. And the same occurs, when there is low to no regulations. But the idea, that lower regulations are generally better is shortsighted.

@pico4 I aould also state in the whole discussion about credibility of privacy focused providers, the mechanics of trust play in the customers favor. Since every person that decides to spend money for a their privacy has a base suspicioun. It is very hard for a brand to build up trust with their clients. But it is very easy to loose trust. GrapheneOS, Signal, Proton or Tuta need to work very hard and offer proof, why one can protect private information better through their tools. They know that many customers will be lost, when there is a breach of customer information. And the fact, that there is not yet a leak of datasets of users is a good sign. And as longer they stand and as more relevant they get, as more people are intrested in their privacy techniques actually working.
