This year had so many great and challenging things. Moving interstate, showing up mindfully in my relationship, leaving a high paced job, settling down into homesteading full time and moving more slowly through my days. As I’m slowing down I’m finding how much more life I have time for. Feeling gratitude and hope for the year to come 🧡

My old job was all taking care of people. I’ve been thinking a lot about it and I am starting to process that on some level taking care of others fed the part of me the needed someone to take care of me. Now I have the very best partner in my life and I don’t need to take care of others anymore, it’s something I can choose to do or not to do. Never have I felt so settled 🧡

I’m a competitive person so I don’t do resolutions, I do challenges. Last year I went without drinking alcohol and learned a lot about myself; this year I went without buying new clothes and unexpectedly learned even more about myself through the process. I’m looking for a challenge for next year that will continue this process. What are you challenging yourself to in 2025?

This week I knelt in a bull ant nest while fixing some fencing and four days later I’m still nursing the painful bites on my leg. Here’s the only useful thing I learned from this experience: If you are sitting on an ants nest it’s not because life put you there, you put yourself there and you are the only one who can change this situation. Own your mistake and own the solution. Also calamine lotion is surprisingly effective. 🐜 🐜🐜🐜🐜🐜🐜🐜🐜🐜🐜

Went to a dinner party tonight. They had puppies. Best party ever.
