🇬🇧 They say you can't go through a halving without facing a tough moment. What happened was a tragedy. One of the most trusted devices on the market for Bitcoin self-custody had a firmware bug exploitable with the help of AI. The device suffered from an entropy flaw when generating private keys for wallets, leaving many honest people stripped of all their savings. I didn't lose any Bitcoin, but I lost all trust in the device and the company. For that reason, I decided to redefine the value of this device, turning it into a piece of art that marks this lesson in history. 🇵🇹 Dizem que não é possível completar um halving sem passar por algum mau momento. O que aconteceu foi uma tragédia. Um dos dispositivos mais confiáveis do mercado, para ter a custodia da própria bitcoin, tinha um bug no firmware explorável com ajuda de AI. O dispositivo tinha uma falha de entropia ao gerar a chave privada das carteiras. Muitas pessoas honestas ficarem sem todas as suas poupanças. Não perdi bitcoin, mas perdi a confiança no dispositivo e na empresa. A friend told me that we need to know how to lose. I understand that means to never carry self conflict and frustrations and move forward. I just don't want to see Bitcoin being captured by the same kind of people that captured gold. The ones moved by greed and corruption. People found hope and fairness in Bitcoin. If that dies, I don't know where we could find those.

Self custody is not dead. Coinkite is.

Two pizzas were purchased for $41 worth of Bitcoin. At the time, it was merely an experiment. An attempt to prove that this digital system could be used as money in the real world. Today, the value associated with that same transaction exceeds $769,000,000. At its core, we must remember that AI-driven systems are created by us, humans. Choosing peace or not is, in reality, a human decision when it is encoded in a certain way. The question then becomes which humans? The answer is those who hold power. And who are those in power? They are the ones closest to the creation and easy access to free money. If the systems that structure power are designed to reduce conflict by removing the ability to manipulate, control, and impose, then perhaps violence ceases to be a necessary tool.
