The flower rests upon a pile of government-issued money. Money stained with blood all over the planet. It is not a mere dramatic effect, it is an accusation. Fiat money (from the Latin fiat lux, let there be light) was and continues to be an instrument of control, a mechanism that seizes savings, commands obedience, and finances wars.
