On the Mount of Transfiguration, in the land of Israel, Moses and Elijah appeared there with Jesus and three disciples.
I believe it was partially symbolic that Moses was not allowed to lead Israel into the Promised Land /rest. Moses represented the Law/works, and God's point was to demonstrate that the Law and works (and thus Judaism), cannot get you the Promised Land /rest.
Joshua, which is the same name as #Jesus in Hebrew, is the one that leads God's people into the Promised Land and rest. Joshua (Iesous/Jesus in Greek) is symbolic of Jesus, the Messiah, who would lead God's people the Promised Land. Then, and now, Jesus is the Way.
