GM! Sunday morning farmer’s market. Much cooler 24°C day here today. Still no rain though. ☕️🫂💜

Upgraded my node to 0.12.0 this afternoon. Pretty straightforward process and no issues encountered. Thanks to @The Fishcake (nostr.build) for the Dockerfile and for upgrading first so I knew mine would work!

A little hot right now 🥵

I’m happy to see most of these ports gone but I do want an ethernet port and a RS-232 serial port would be nice too.

“Blood moon” eclipse in November 2022 that was visible from here. #photography

The eclipse wasn’t visible from here and there was some light around but it was still a nice full moon.

We won’t get a good view of today’s “blood moon” eclipse here in Australia but there is a live stream from the US with a decent telescope and camera here:

Helping to mentor new junior staff members at work can sometimes be difficult. It takes at least 5 times longer to show them how to do a task than if I just do it myself and a fair bit of patience having to explain the same thing several times.. There is still some satisfaction passing on knowledge I have built up over the years and helping them start out their career though.

Contemplating getting an amateur radio license although I don’t know that I need another expensive hobby.. The basic license seems pretty cheap though. Free 1 day course and exam, then a small fee for registration and to get a call sign.

Fairly productive day at work today. Spent most of the day writing Python code to automate the generation of the router configurations required for some complex network migrations. Previously it took a long time to manually determine the require changes. Now I can just feed in a list of services to move and scripts generate the required config. Much more efficient and less prone to errors.
