Nostr is one of those things that's less bad than all the alternatives, so that's why I use it. And now I'm noticing just how bad Nostr is, but there's nothing that's less bad than Nostr unless I develop on it. But since anyone can build on Nostr, Nostr will naturally become less bad with time, and remain less bad than the alternatives, and I'll continue to use it. So it can only actually attract disgruntled people at the moment. Uh, so I guess that's 1. Everything other selling point is an inside joke that no one cares about and has a hard time assimilating to.

I don't have to sell the nostr. The nostr sells itself. (Just like drugs 😂)

Drugs are great at first, then they get progressively worse Nostr is weird & clunky at first, but it gets progressively better

There are fewer people using Nostr today than 6 months ago.

nostr is inversely proportional to drugs. Both are addictive.

1) Happiest place on the internet. Even the toxicity is out of love. GM, GN, GFY. 2) Easiest way to find and pay someone. A global directory for Bitcoin Lightning Network. 3) Alternative economic model to the exploitive gatekeepers for content creators. Musicians can be paid directly by their audience (Fountain/Wavlake). So can podcasters, content creators, etc. 4) it’s uncontrollable. Can’t be censored. DYI algorithms. No shadow banning. Can’t be bankrupted. 5) Growth is in the value/user rather than eyeballs. Even if user count remains flat, the value of the zaps go up infinitely in the long run. Bonus: It’s the only place to go to for a social network. Everything else is social media.
