Tech minimalist Bitcoiners are funny. Here are some hard pills for them to swallow: - Internet-connected cameras at home are superior home security. You can monitor your house and operate home automation systems from anywhere. - Modern EVs are superior. You can get electricity from pretty much anywhere. The grid, solar, diesel generator, even a homemade steam engine - chop trees and throw fuckin logs in there! - Your AR-15 won’t help much against Neuralink’ed invaders who have 360 degree vision and telepathically control drone swarms. (Still wouldn’t have a Neuralink that could do that installed but would an open source equivalent)

“Protect cryptocurrency investments” likely means crack down on/ban coinjoins and encourage storing your coins with 3rd parties. View quoted note →

Is there any serious testing being done on post-quantum algorithms for Bitcoin yet? If not, why?

Don’t forget, tech like the Meta Smart glasses can be turned on the State for inverse surveillance. Dox the FBI goons they send to your door to harass you about your social media posts.

The human body is still not completely understood, however what IS known about the body is open information that can be accessed by anyone. Imagine if there was a part of your body that only a company and governments get to have the knowledge of. That’s what you have with closed, proprietary augmentations like Neuralink and this. If there’s room on it, I guess @Peter Todd should get promoted to the “we are all Satoshi” meme with “not you” over Craig Wright.

Musk and X ended up bending the knee on censorship in Brazil, also giving them their requested $5 million. Probably partially explains the dropping count of active users here on Nostr.

Everyone’s focusing on the negatives. A pretty cool use I can see for tech like this is superhuman awareness (eyes on the back of your head). The device could have additional cameras to provide 360 view. AI would constantly scan people nearby for suspicious behavior towards you, picking up things like gaze and mannerisms, objects being held, etc. Wearer gets Spider-Sense! View quoted note →
