Love this! My only comment as a Muslim is that in Islam the child actually has thr most rights as they are the closest to a state of fitra/innocence and thus they have a right over their parents that this state be maintained and guarded as closely as possible. The parental duties to creste, nurture and sustain their offspring (which are also seen as entrusted to them by God) then flow from this and not the state. Idividual rights are key to understanding relational dynamics in Islam and abuse at every degree, but especially that of the state, is never to be tolerated. View quoted note →
