The biggest challenge in creating a "SAIFnostr" is reconciling two opposing poles: On one hand, we need to preserve the freedom and uncensorability that comes with such a decentralized protocol. On the other hand, we need to exercise a certain degree of control because we do have certain "harams". The first aspect requires complete release and surrender of control, while the other aspect, if we abandon all control, opens the door to everything we don't want. How do you find this balance on a technical level? That's precisely the core problem in creating a SAIFnostr. If any theoretical preliminary discussions are necessary at all, they need to revolve around this core question. Everything else is secondary for now. Have the SAIF chief theorists already addressed this problem?

Back in the 70s, historical movies often showed ancient civilizations like Rome, Egypt, or Mesopotamia as super decadent. They'd always had this ruling class that oppressed everyone else, acting like they were above the law and common decency, while the regular people were just treated as the rabble. Nobody back then would've ever thought that 50 years later, we'd be experiencing similar times all over again. image

Ugh, I was just about to post something super trivial. You know, the kind of stuff all those Nostrfluencers post here. The ones who can't come up with anything new anymore but somehow feel obligated to post some garbage every day just to keep their fans engaged. Thankfully, I managed to hold myself back. ๐Ÿ˜ฎโ€๐Ÿ’จ

Trump and Elon are going for a second round, like a freshly divorced couple. And the fact that Trump is threatening to withdraw subsidies in this personal (emotional) conflict, openly abusing power, doesn't seem to bother the MAGAs in the slightest. Apparently nobody knows what statesmanship is anymore these days. Idiocracy is in full swing.

Do you also have that one friend who talks your ear off for half an hour straight on the phone without pausing - while you just occasionally confirm with "hmm," "yeah," "true" - but as soon as you try to say something for 30 seconds afterward, he quickly and audibly expresses his boredom?

The YouTube quasi-monopoly problem can't be solved. Not at this time. It's not a technical problem, it's a head-start problem. Similar to the Bitcoin network, YouTube's lead is simply too great. The investment they've already put in, the attraction for advertisers, the audience that automatically comes with every Android phone. This kind of advantage can't be overcome anymore. And because of this, you won't convince content creators to switch to any new technical solution, no matter how sophisticated. That ship has sailed long ago. It's the biggest social media platform of all. Google Search could go down, Google Adsense could go down, but YouTube won't go down so easily. And people who prefer to have content explained to them via video rather than reading instructions aren't decreasing in number. Forget it, this battle is lost. All content creators will primarily use YouTube, subject themselves to its arbitrary rules, and potentially risk their life's work in the process. They have no other choice.
