Has it ever crossed the mind of those "hodl hodl and never spedn" fiat Bitcoiners that if they hodl long enough, do nothing for building a circular Bitcoin economy, and then maybe 20 or 30 years down the line, like they planned, wanna cash out their stash back into fiat... they'll probably only get CBDCs in return? And a bunch of laws and regs on taxes and assets will have totally changed by then? 😀

That's a secret language those folks speak, and you gotta understand it the right way. Whenever they say there's not enough talent or over in Europe "there's a skilled worker shortage," you can't take that as the actual truth.
They're speaking Corporate-Speak, which is like a whole different language. The translation into normal talk would be:
"There are definitely enough skilled folks for all the jobs out there, but there's no extra supply that lets us keep the upper hand in salary talks."
That means they'd have to pay these pretty rare talents what they're worth. After all, those people have put a ton of time into their education, training and work experience. Time that corporate assholes just don't wanna shell out for, they're too stingy and figure "theplebs should cover that themselves." Cause they want an economy that's easy for them, meaning just pay for the direct work. Not for all the upfront investment it takes.
And from this pool of talented plebs, they want as many as they can get so they can keep wages low, basically drive the price down. Then they start yapping about "international competitiveness" and all that bullshit.
A study from years back actually showed (this topic isn't new) that if there are 7 applicants for a job, these guys already start sweating bullets out of fear. Then they yell "skilled worker shortage" to the media and their politician puppets. And those puppets set up talent drains from other countries so they end up with 10 applicants per spot instead of 7. Cause those poor plebs still buy into the old myth that working in Europe or the US is way better than in their totally broke and openly corrupt home countries.
Politician talk is just corporate talk. It's a completely different language from what we normal people use. You gotta keep that in mind with everything they spit out.

Normalize this ⬇. But normalize paying rent and energy costs with BTC too.

Ok, I get it, some people mute me. But why is one of them also following me? Doesn't make sense.
19 muteuals
And I'm noticing a bit of a pattern. Christians and Christmas celebrators. 😏
What's your muteuals count?

Honestly, I can totally relate to that. Even when I'm building this Nostr client. I just don't wanna deal with all these beginner topics anymore.
Not that I'm a stranger to usability and making stuff beginner-friendly, I've written about it back in the 90s when you all were still hunting for that blue 'e' on your desktop thinking that's the whole internet. I've also read through nostr-ux.com; some solid tips on operational security, but on stuff like 'Discovery' for example, it just makes my hair stand on end.
What am I supposed to do, try to simulate some algorithm? Curate a bunch of special users that might catch a Nostr newbie's eye? Just so they don't start with an empty feed because they're hooked on those clicky colorful TikTok videos? Should I even suck up to their dopamine-fried brains, just because... yeah what... "mass adoption"?
Forget it, the public talk around here is way too out there anyway. Too far from Normie-Land. Either you all are too intellectual or too weird. Not even your memes are normal, yo. What am I gonna scrape together for that first timeline hoping it'll keep a normie sticking around? I'm not sure if that even works here, you gotta be ready for Nostr. This is like 'the 37 Chambers of Shaolin', not 'Jean-Claude van Damme doing splits in slow motion'. View quoted note →
Haha, bullshit. How many times have I opened an ODF or Libre Calc sheet and the formatting was totally messed up and couldn't even be fixed. Ever since then, it's just TXT and CSV for me.

Yep! And get muted due to stinginess. View quoted note →
Bros, are y’all coding Nostr clients or what? 😀

Hey guys, I'm just running a quick field test for mentions in NoorNote. Can you guys let me know if you get notified about this mention, like if it actually shows up for you?

At first I was totally against it too, but now I actually like AI slop. I even celebrate every new piece of AI slop, and you know why? Because it really shows what kind of worthless fiat trash we've been dealing with for decades.
Doesn't matter what kind of art, when you see how even this first generation of AI can reproduce it, it pushes today's so-called artists to rethink their stuff and make something better than the crap they're getting paid for. It's about time we cranked up the level of human creativity back to that pre-fiat era, like medieval times, when artworks lasted way beyond the artists' deaths, for centuries.
Like, "You slapped a bunch of crap on a canvas and call it art? Here, take this AI crap, it can do the same thing. Why should I pay for yours?"
Pharaonic trait detected: „Believe what I say, not what you experience every day. Stop thinking. See reality through my mouth."

Dude, every 40 years there’s a tiny bit of mild drama here and they’re already making memes about it. Over on MT you wouldn’t even be able to keep up.

Normie users are really resilient. They even went along with Windows 11 without realizing they’re basically sitting at a dumb terminal connected to a mainframe in Redmond.
