First: It's not "hate", they're valid points of criticism that should be addressed individually. A childish "you're all just haters" doesn't cut it here.
Second: None of this is "manufactured", it's been observed by multiple people over a long period of time.
And third: The bigger you are, the longer you've been on the market, the more often you're recommended, and the more funding you get, the more you're in the spotlight. That's just how it works. We're not questioning amateurs here.

Don't waste energy complaining about the enemy. There will always be one, that's part of the game. Focus on finding ways to neutralize them. That's what the enemy fears: a cool, cold badass who focuses on the fight. Not cowards who whine about him to everyone.
NIP-02 petnames und private Notes about a user in #NoorNote
The petname is the 4th optional field in your contact list: a self-given nickname for exactly this contact.
What it is for: pubkeys are unreadable hex strings and the "display name" from the profile (kind:0) is neither unique nor verified, anyone can call themselves "jack". The petname is your own name for a person that only you control. So you recognize them reliably no matter what they are currently calling themselves in the profile.
The actual reason behind it (the "petname system" concept): a name that's at the same time
- humanly memorable (unlike the pubkey/npub),
- belongs to you (unlike the freely choosable profile name),
- permanently tied to an identity (pubkey/npub).
This makes it at its core an anti-impersonation mechanism: a scammer can copy the profile name, but your petname "real jack" he can't fake.
The catch: in NIP-02 the petname sits in the public contact list. Everyone who reads your follow list sees it.
And private petnames do not exist yet. At least I have not found any NIP for it. That's why I#ve built a private NIP-78 variant. And extended it right away so that you can also write longer notes about a user that only you can read. That's the NoorNote-specific variant.
You can set both fields on a profile page as well as in your follow list. NIP-02 petnames you can only set with users you follow, the private notes with any user. So for example you can also note whether someone is a scammer, AI bot or simply just an asshole and recognize them again if you run into this user again 1 or 2 years later. The note icon then turns green if you have stored a note.
This is how you set NIP-02 petnames
and this is how you set private notes about a user
As always in the next release and already on right now.

Damn, Opus 4.8 seems/acts really clever. I'll have to push it and see if it's actually that smart or just pretending.
Don't care, still stacking.

It's interesting watching the first fiat businesses slowly show up here. They just follow the usual big accounts. Of course they have no idea who's already fallen out of favor because of recent Bitcoin or Nostr dramas, what topics are actually 'in' now, or which way the wind is blowing. They're still completely clueless, stuck in that old fiat mindset from 4 years ago, with zero street credibility. But they feel like big shots just because they accept Bitcoin (with the completely wrong wallets) and managed to generate a key pair.
The problem is, there are going to be a lot of them soon, and none of the current standards will matter anymore. We'll end up living in the eternal past and keep repeating the same mistakes.
Getting real sovereignty is really tough, and I think some people will never get there. Those of us actually trying to move things forward will stay a niche inside a niche.
Just for the records.
He read my question, then half an hour later commented on something else in my thread ("I am a reciprocator") instead of answering, then he just muted me. I take that as a "No. Thereโs no way to participate in pubky without selling your data to his company."

Haha I found a guy who just replaced all those sneaky long AI dashes (โ) in his texts with regular dashes (-). ๐
Bro thatโs not how it works. We can still tell. You've got to turn them into real sentences with proper clauses.
