Adam Curry coined the term #v4v on the No Agenda podcast with John C. Dvorak, which aired its first episode in 2007. The concept of V4V is nearly TWO DECADES OLD. He also coined the term #v4vmusic on his short-lived music podcast Boostagram Ball, which last aired in 2024. I'm sure a lot of folks here have read @Gigi's writings on Value 4 Value which is an EXCELLENT place to learn about the philosophy if you haven't yet LIVED it. But there's a lot of n00bs wandering in asking, "HoW dOeS iT sCaLe?" Only 4% of people are going to give value back -- and that's okay! We're talking about a mindset, a shift in consciousness to abundance mentality which happens best in peer-to-peer interactions but starts with YOU. Lead by example and remember value is MORE than a monetization model. It takes time and talent too by quite literally accepting the responsibility of self-sovereignty, cutting out middlemen, and removing any risk of censorship.

#MusicDiscovery is a skill, and there's a reason only ONE consistent music podcast has taken up the challenge of serving exclusively #decentralizedmusic out of the whole #v4vmusic ecosystem -- because, just like self-hosting the #RSS feed (your art) and self-custodying your sats, freedom takes a couple extra steps! #Demu keeps the value flow peer to peer, like BTC and #v4v are intended to work, which is why it's the ONLY music you'll hear on Homegrown Hits.
