You see how easy is data breaching or other private informations - so many of them happened in just one last month. And if Bitcoin is language and data too: then protecting your privacy should be number one concern. Not only protecting money on bank account - protecting privacy in general. My few thoughts inspired by #Napstr and why projects like this matters: What a prehistoric idea, but what a great one - you can upload music to #Napstr and there are no notifications telling you who and how many times downloaded your song or how many times listened to it (* it's just not displayed) you can simply upload something out of the desire to share. Now you can see, by contrast, how modern social media have distorted this whole phenomenon. On Instagram, you post something and wait for either a comment, like,, share, etc. (not me, I have fewer than 1,000 followers... but you can see, again, I even mentioned followers now because this is what everyone there thinks about, which is "what can I get in return"). Everything is centered around identity, around building a brand, and brands are increasingly becoming us. We have turned ourselves into products. Products for sale. And on open source, this isn’t there, it is more about sharing something for the good of the community (and your own, of course) So for example: someone benefited from my songs - okay, cool. They didn’t benefit - also okay. They liked them, or they didn’t: it doesn’t really matter. It’s nice if someone benefited from them, if not, that’s also okay. Social media feed our ego. Because the ego wants to fit us into some kind of framework, into a box, and preferably elevate us above others. There's so much comparison and judgement - "ooo that person has this amount of likes or followers" or "I can listen to XYZ person 'cause he's having lots of likes..." (which is weird way of marking social status anyway) as if people forget today that buying likes is polishinel' secrecy and its biggest Achilless' heel at the same time. #Napstr #nostr #opensource #bitcoin #instagram

My approach (ideally): I want to own not only flat or house but also an entire land with that house, and on that land I want to have water filters and my own veggies and chickens so I can provided everything without government "help". That's how FREE I want to be - by owning everything. Then, no one can tell you nothing. #bitcoin #freedom #ownership

Subscription models treat you like a thief. Before, you bought a CD or any vinyl (one-time purchase, right?) and you’d reuse it so to speak infinitely. Now you have it for the next month in the best case 🤪 And if you want to use it later on, you’re “stealing” in their minds and according to them. This is major mindset shift in the last 15 years when it comes to business model. And I'd say it's also big shift even in the whole IDEA of ownership itself (but that's another topic). GM I'm finishing my essay about fathers :) Part I is already ready (you're invited to read, it's for free) Part II - exploration ofnmythology to give a context for Part I and III Part III - it's an attempt for placing them in modern context. And I found out this great quote (Joseph Campbell is speaking with Moyers) "MOYERS: Rollo May says there is so much violence in American society today because there are no more great myths to help young men and women relate to the world or to understand that world beyond what is seen. CAMBELL: Yes, but another reason for the high level of violence here is that America (...) CAMPBELL: What we have today is a demythologized world. And, as a result, the studentsI meet are very much interested in mythology because myths bring them messages. Now, I can't tell you what the messages are that the study of mythology is bringing to young people today. I know what it did for me. But it is doing something for them. When I go to lecture at any college, the room is bursting with students who have come to hear what I have to say. The faculty very often assigns me to a room that's a little small -- smaller than it should have been because they didn't know how much excitement there was going to be in the student body" Contemporary society is deprived of this immersion in stories where we all can relate to some stories. Some would actually elevate us and, other, would humble us when needed. (I wouldn't say Marvel and DC is enough... although it's good to have some :))
