Have you ever heard of Owncast? We hadn't until recently, but apparently we've been building a similar self-hosted streaming concept for Nostr without even knowing Owncast existed. 😄 Owncast is self-hosted streaming software. You're responsible for managing and configurating the complicated server stuff needed to deliver your stream to viewers. Owncast is also not compatible with Nostr or Bitcoin. But we took a very different route. LFL lets dedicated Zap Stream backend providers handle the heavy video infrastructure while we focus on the streamer's frontend, Nostr network, Lightning, discovery, interaction and monetization. Different architectures. Similar belief. Any Owncast users reading this? LFL is waiting for you. 🥳

Our testing of the LFL S1 streaming backend is finished. We updated the price from free to 1 sat per minute to help cover server costs. Different backends have different prices. Feel free to use a different backend to find one that suits you.

We are now using cloudflare stream on our LFL S1 backend. It should be much faster than before. No more buffering. You can also stream forward to Rumble, Twitch and YouTube and have those sites record and store your streams for free. We have no plans on storing your live streams as it's too costly. Some zap stream backends do store your streams while some don't. It's up to you to check. Thanks to shosho for giving us the idea of cloudflare stream on the backend. We are testing a new backend. All of the RTMP urls and Keys were reset. If you were using the S1 backend. You will have to go into the admin panel Tab2 to get your new RTMP url & Key. If you are using Zap Stream. Go to the Zap Stream dashboard, click settings to get your new server Url and Stream Key.

Have you heard of the zap ghost? I heard he's causing trouble over at LFL.

The LFL streaming backend has an issue where you top-up and the sats aren't updated to your account. We have set the streaming as free for now until the bug is fixed. It seems some of the other backends might have that issue too. It will be up to you to verify.
