So I'm not the only one feeling the same after being burnt with all kinds of UX shenanigans, project shut-downs, hackings, exploitings, et al. even before the dooming #AI apocalypse. Somebody please stop the world spinnig, I want out. View quoted note →

Maybe #AI will not kill #foss after all Case in point: #logseq my beloved note-taking outliner shot itself in the foot by splitting its codebase and for all intents and purposes dropping its Markdown file-based backend for a SQLite database. Its development was already stagnant and this amounted effectively to a coup de grâce if you ask me. #logseq is written in the beautiful programming language #clojure one so niche that contributing to the project must be like joining a software engineering circlejerk just for software engineering’s sake. UI, UX, roadmap, performance, et al. be damned. And still #logseq concepts were sound, many users myself included validated it with our own data. That’s why I for one welcome #tine a lightning-fast, multi-platform, compatible #loseq re-implementation written in butt-ugly #rust with the help of #claude #AI And maybe, just maybe, this is how #foss projects get killed and reborn by #AI

`breezmobile` and `misty-breeze` (both LN wallets) removed from the @Breez ⚡️ repos. Maybe #AI *is* killing #foss and some projects are just rage-quitting preemptively before the agentic exploitcalypse? Boy if we go back to #security by obscurity we've really come full-circle.

This is *not* the Niagara launcher #android #foss My beloved Niagara was the last bastion standing between me and my full #degoogle experience. But no more. Enter the Grace launcher, already pretty usable and with the most important features, there are few reasons to go for the free version of Niagara now. Just keep up with the latest releases using #obtainium

Back in the day I tried #phoenixwallet after falling out of love with #breez (there was not misty-breez yet). Now it is time to get into #lightning again. But with a twist. @ZEUS Previously: View quoted note →

Meet the #ginkgo (s) In view of the upcoming #android certification #apocalypse of September 2026, I decided to double down and #degoogle a second #ginkgo device (Xiaomi Redmi Note 8) to weather the shitstorm on the most stable and "open" compatible Android 16 #roms I could find. So #lineageos and e.foundation #eOS it is for the tine being. I got both devices used and/or refurbished pretty inexpensively but now they run my priceless workflow everyday. It must be a #KYC thing for sure. But surprisingly they do work with the #microg implementation on e/OS/ 4.0 💪 Now we'll see how this goodness survives a release update. #android #degoogle #privacy e.foundation Previously: View quoted note →
