i still tell nieces and nephews who are smart to get an engineering degree so they have a base in first principle thinking founded on physics that doesn't change. AI will be used in these jobs but won't take them away. I tell the more physical minded relatives to join oil and gas companies laying pipe and working the fields in midland or get a master electrician cert so they can be a high earning tradesman. AI isn't going to take physical jobs for a long time. Most people with money struggles should excel in community college first before transitioning for the final two years in state school. no one should start in a private school u less they are the most academically driven kid you have ever met. the risk isn't priced correctly. took much doom about the future of AI. be smart and learn things that don't change that are based on physics.

every day seeing my node route payments on the lightning network is truly amazing. some people wake up and check the btc price. i wake up and check my nodes' routing. it's like tending a garden of sats image

no one will use stable coins in the western world once they learn about the public nature of the ledger. imagine paying for something and exposing your whole spending history and current balance. it is very rare that i will make an on chain bitcoin transaction without using a swap service

there isn't relative correctness in the universe -- there are only truths that match with reality and those that don't. if luke is wrong it means he isn't operating from first principle truth. if bitcoiners are wrong it means they are also misguided. both will be judged equally by reality and the real thinkers will be reinforced by truth and the wrong thinkers will be negated by reality View quoted note →

the hardest part of hodling is the expectation of the future the more and more buddhism i read the more "non attachment" seems to be the only way to get through this with some level of sanity View quoted note →

running your own lightning node is a must for privacy. it largely replaces the need to coinjoin given the multitude of swap providers available. add on blinded paths and you are basically free

when you suppress volatility in the economy with continued bailouts you get volatility in society. instead of housing crashes you get nihilism instead of bank failures you get fentanyl addiction middle america instead of medium sized family owned business you get gig workers with no kids volatility will just move one one part of the economy to the other and comes out as anger and social fractures View quoted note →

the daylight computer will be great when the screen resolution is improved. the current screen is very poor resolution for the size. it will be a wonderful device if they can just fix that one problem. i'll def buy a dc2 if screen resolution can get to the 300dpi level i really hope they succeed as a company since reflective lcds could be amazing @Daylight Computer Co
