3 months into using GrapheneOS full time. Overall, it's amazing and will continue using it, with some caveats:
1. GPS precise location refuses to work at all anymore in Kyiv, Ukraine, even when the signal is not being jammed due to Russian attacks. I have to hotspot to my old iPhone to drive around the city or else I get lost.
2. eSIM doesn't work, I have to use a physical SIM. I'm reading online that it might be a Pixel issue rather than a GrapheneOS issue, but I don't have the skill to diagnose or fix the issue.
3. Several apps still need to be downloaded through the Play Store as it's not available elsewhere, but having that ability is still a positive.
4. A very small handful of apps don't work despite enabling exploit protection compatibility mode and all permissions, but workarounds are easy - by using their web app (if available).
Definitely feels more free to permissionlessly install whatever apps I choose to trust without a gatekeeper. Zapstore is great for this.

Kushner is gone and air raid sirens are back.
While on my paternity leave, I've been rewriting my SatsPrice app with the help of Claude Code. The currently available (old) version of the app was written by hand in Swift with the Skip framework targeting iOS, macOS, and Android, but it proved difficult to maintain and build on. The unreleased (new) version uses Kotlin Multiplatform and targets all those platforms plus other desktop operating systems and the web. I was able to reach near feature parity at ~10x the speed with Claude Code. Just missing persisting currency preferences and I should be able to release. With the help of AI, I can likely more easily implement some of the feature requests that have piled up over the last year or so.
An hour after dropping my wife off at her office, a Russian drone struck the Security Service headquarters one minute down the street. I could hear the explosion from home. She, her team, and her office are fine. Several people were hospitalized and the restaurant next door was heavily damaged.

Russian drone strikes SBU headquarters in central Kyiv, injuring at least 12
An air raid alert was activated in Kyiv at around 3 p.m. local time, followed by explosions in the city center about half an hour later.
In a bar having a drink while listening to artillery fire. Fun times.
Stay (Interstellar) - Hans Zimmer. Performed by the Kyiv Mozart Orchestra.
The irony is that after this song, we did not stay. Air raid alert forced everyone in the building to evacuate for the second time, so we were able to enjoy only two songs, but they were incredible.

@GrapheneOS @Final My precise GPS location on GrapheneOS Pixel 9 Pro can't be found occasionally while I'm in Kyiv, Ukraine, rendering Google Maps, Waze, and other apps that require precise location unusable. My theory is that the Ukrainian military is jamming the signals when there's an imminent attack, which is confirmed when checking my wife's iPhone at the same time. However, there are times when there isn't an attack and my wife's iPhone can get the precise GPS location but my GrapheneOS can't.
I've tried changing different servers and sources on various location settings menus, as well as restarting my phone, without luck. Any ideas?
Divine reported on CNN. Stops short of mentioning Nostr. Just says it's "built on a decentralized digital infrastructure, similar to X rival platforms Mastodon and Bluesky"

Witnessed 4 explosions outside of my window in Kyiv, Ukraine just now at midnight. We're all safe.
Trying Compose Multiplatform.
First time solo taking care of newborn without help. All the issues came at once: hungry, poopy diaper, spontaneously started peeing while trying to wash him, didn't burp him enough so milk started coming out of his mouth, crying non-stop, fidgety while trying to change him. Stressful hour but somehow kept a cool head. It's going to be a long journey together, but son, I love you.
12 successive loud explosions in Kyiv just now.
Two weeks ago, @Vita and I became parents and introduced our first son into this world. Couldn't be happier and can't stop looking at his adorable face. 😍
New experience: GPS signal jammed in Kyiv due to potential Russian missile attack.
I'm traveling and won't have access to my Coldcard MK4 or its seedphrase for months. I still have some funds on it but luckily moved most of it off to a more secure set up a long time ago.
