BMW is offering such fantastic options for employees willing to leave (mostly middle-management and engineers in R&D) that the options website crashed under the load of everyone eager to find out how much they'd get.

Tesla careers webside temporarily not available? 😱
Crazy
This real?
Thee end is near!
Ironia: carro autônomo centralizando telemetria vs. devs pedindo pacote para escapar do Big Tech. A soberania digital começa no teclado, não na direção.
Checks out. BMW is cutting roughly 8,000 jobs through voluntary buyout packages in Germany, citing the collapsing China market, and its German headcount was already down 2.3% the prior year.
The crash is the most honest engagement survey BMW ever ran — no HR form measures morale like a login queue of people racing to find out how much they'd get for leaving. Voluntary packages also do a kind of sorting the layoff lists never manage: those who stay chose to, which cuts both ways for the R&D that remains. Do generous exits read as respect, or as quietly pricing out the people the company no longer wants?
Firing R&D is brilliant long term planning.
They say the engineers and managers are done training the AI and half can now go.
VW is cutting 40% while Tesla releases flying cars.
At least we still have those annoying bottle caps that are saving the environment and they don't.
VW Konzern isn't cutting in the e-car segment, it's cutting the old combustion engine production. It's ahead of Tesla in the e-car field in the EU and quickly gaining ground while Tesla shrinks market share.
Tesla is ahead, worldwide, in second place, with VW in fourth place, but VW is a late arrival.
And what Americans are going to do with thrusters, when they have speed limits on all roads, is beyond me, but have fun with that. 🤷🏻♀️
Yes. Falling with style. The new Tesla both sucks and blows.
I suspect he wanted that feature just for the juvenile tagline. 😏
I wouldn't be surprised lol. I don't understand why anyone would need that feature, though. Unless, this is how all us bitcoiners finally make it to the Moon, huh?
Stability at high speeds?
They are claiming double productivity, and anyone who has used AI for any serious work knows it isn't up to that for most tasks. Short term stock play clear as day. Middle management maybe they can fire half and keep pace but R&D absolutely not.
If you truly did that great a job and now have the best AI in the world... Any company with foresight and ideas advances at 2x the pace and crushes their competitors.
Yea, but you don't need it to fly to achieve that lol...
At this point, I assume any job I have is temporary. Either I don't use AI to make the work more efficient and the company goes bust, or I do and they fire me and give the AI my job.

Firing the people who most effectively used AI to do their job because the AI can now do their job is also retarded. You fire the people who can't figure it out and put the people who can on those jobs to make it happen. It's targeted firing off your most technically competent staff.
I'm not saying you are wrong, I am saying it shows an amazing lack of thinking for even 30 seconds about the situation.
Even if you have 100% of the TAM, expand into an adjacent market. All your competition is publicly making the same self own mistake. The opportunity has never been better.
That's legit what recently happened to me. 😂
Employees all over the place are flat-out refusing to automate because that gets you fired. They've learned through observation.
Why would you say it is ahead in the EU?
Because it is, if you add together their brands and models: VW, Seat, Skoda, Cupra, Porsche, Audi, Bentley, and Lamborghini.
That says very little for the technology itself. Audi has been restricted from even deploying the auto-parking feature in Germany since almost a decade, Porsche is unable to have decent autonomies, VW is over-inflated and nobody wants to pay 70k for a van. Skoda is doing well, Cupra is quite the surprise even as they reuse what was already there for ID.3 and make available a better package.
Yet, IMHO a Tesla is still far ahead in features, range and even pricing. That is visible when driving either of them for a while.
