I just mean, I think our very best case is we raise like $500, which buys absolutely nothing. To run a real campaign we need real money

$500 strategically deployed is significantly better than nothing.. it gives it a chance
Run ads on Wisp. Thereβs a 99% chance TikTok would shadowban such a project that goes against the doom scroll, attention harvesting culture. Ads on Wisp could be placed on the top and bottom of articles, in the feed etc. I donβt think thereβs any other way to monetize a free app without harvesting and selling data. Create a quasi Signal/Facebook approach. Donβt collect user info, collect pseudonym info to position ads.
Thinking out loud.
Then fork, remove ads, why would I want open source application to have ads? I'm not sure if that's the way, I'd add an invite me a coffee thing that allows users to send directly to the developers or something like that but ads idk
Another issue is that some of the biggest names here have some financial interest in a Wisp competitor (either that invest in it, get grants for it, etc).
