They literally are custodial lightning providers.
That said, most custodial lightning use does seem to have moved to Spark. Which is different. Still many drawbacks, but it does at least have unilateral exit.

people don't run custodial lightning services themselves either, that's kind of the point.
I used to place value on things like unilateral exit until I looked up how convoluted and expensive it would be to actually do it. then I realized spark is a centralizing thing and a complete dead end just like every other non-mined L2 so it doesn't matter if it has that or not
Bitcoin is mostly centralized in terms of mining so why the fuck does anything else matter what you use?
