Suppose fiat currencies did collapse and everyone moved to bitcoin
Do you really think the powers that be, be it armies or the mob, will just allow us to be the new rulers/bankers of the world because we were early?
No, we'll probably get guillotined

Think about the dynamic of even having armies in a fiat collapse situation. Is it feasible?
I feel like if the popular opinion of bitcoin was favorable, government would have no choice π€·π»ββοΈ but they'll fight all the way there
Itβs rare that there would be such a transfer of power without friction, and a lot of it. This much is certain to me. But what is not certain is the ability to organize properly, willpower, grit, and cleverness of the challenger.

Guillotine them first.
Bitcoin does not replace fiat it compliments it. You spend in fiat and save in corn. Only shedding SATs as needed for fiat goods. Paying in corn where accepted. No need to fight the fiat machine move with it.
The only way that is going to happen is if we get out of our basements, learn a little Dale Carnagie dark social magic, and make friends among the norms, especially business owners.
How and why? This is doomed mentality.
The point was always to replace fiat. Somewhere along the way contemporary Bitcoiners forgot that.
Nah, much easier to just capture (which was already done) Stratum and Segwit were the worst things to happen to Bitcoin. Stratum for the centralization and Segwit for the Blockweight measurement. I've moved on, and I spent 11 years studying Bitcoin. Sucks buck we blew it.
I'm banking on it π
Most will be unable to switch gears from their soft lives to doing the unthinkable fast enough. Read Selco Begovic βDark Secrets of SHTFβ about the two years he spent in Sarajevo during the siege of that city.
Sats are way too globally distributed for that work at all
I wish I could believe that
You can have NGU or you can have freedom money.
Eventually you have to choose.

historical precedent doesn't support the peaceful transition fantasy. when power structures collapse, the people who held the old currency usually don't get to inherit the throne - they get to become the new scapegoats.
the real question isn't whether you'll become the new rulers, it's whether you'll survive the period where everyone realizes they were late to the exit.

If individuals hold 12 million koins and 10% hold keys then thatβs 1.2 million potential targets. If only 1/4 of those are worth pursuing then thatβs 300,000 targets globally. Population of the U.S. federal prison system is around 150k. The cost hunt down, capture and torture / extort that many people would be substantial and sans fiat likely impossible (imo)
Fun to think about. If we believe that it is a realistic scenario, we may want to start planning for it.
I see what you did there
Do you really think England would let the colonies just start a new country?
No but they went ahead and took it anyways
Thankfully the French were there to help
