6 weeks ago a fox broke in and killed 5 out of our 6 ducks. Miraculously, the one that survived continued to lay (fertile) eggs and got broody. Diligently, Ginger sat on her nest for weeks, and today her first two ducklings hatched. Hopefully a few more to come - but we feel so blessed that her lineage was so close to wiped-out and now can continue. #duck #homesteading
