I think most of the Bitcoin influencers weren’t even around back then, so they have to go on what they read. I remember clearly the overwhelming majority of plebs were against that bs.

It's one of the problems in this space. Nobody ever seems to remember what actually happened as little as 4 years ago. Let alone 8 or 12.
Same with nutrition, most 'experts' regurgitate what they've read, not lived.
