lol, most peppers start out green and then change into the different colors depending on variety and ripeness.
I've never seen a chocolate coloured pepper before.

Purple peppers are the green stage for purple varieties! The flesh of purple peppers is green, and they will eventually usually turn red.

Ripe jalapeños are red and much more delicious than green ones
