As you may have noticed I'm taking a break from #dailydrawing to focus on a new chapter. I've recently spawned a new baby! image And I'm thinking about writing about my experience with a home birth in the USA. If you have any questions or want to ask me anything, feel free to comment below. I'll be back soon with more updates! #announcement #family #momstr

Thanks! I'm feeling good! Like I didn't just push an entire human being out of me πŸ˜‚ I had like no tearing. So I was very fortunate. I feel like the pregnancy and birth were the easy part. Being in charge of a little human bean is a doozy!! Is there anything you wanted to know in particular?

not particularly. just wanted to see how you're doing ❀️ it is pretty incredible to suddenly be in charge of a whole new human being haha.
Aw thank you!! ❀ it has definitely be challenging. Putting me to the test. It is crazy. I still can't believe I have a baby. That she cane out of me. 😳 Correct me if I'm wrong, but you have little ones right? I have a question for you.

day by day, that's how I do it. Some days are better than others. As long as the kiddos are fed, clean and rested, I'm good. I think when you pause to ask yourself "am I doing a good job? is there something I can do better?" That is when you're on the right track. There will always be some measure of mom guilt. It's just the nature of motherhood. I make mistakes but I learn from them. That's all I can ask of myself. Be able to give myself grace and compassion for doing this very job is necessary. I also think it's important to take a little time everyday to do something that is outside of motherhood. I knit or play video games. Being able to forget that I'm a mom has been helpful for mental rest.

not sure what happened with that sentence πŸ˜† it should read: Being able to give myself grace and compassion for doing this job is very necessary.

Congratulations!! πŸ₯³πŸ₯³ I was a homebirthed baby and I love hearing stories πŸ₯°
Thanks for the insight. Its such a big learning curve. Its reassuring to hear all of this. I think I still need to figure out how to make time for myself. Baby still doesn't want to be away from me for long, so I only manage to do simple things like brush my teeth or shower in the times that baby allows dad or grandma to hold her. πŸ˜… I am slowly figuring things out.

I was birthed in the bath, caught by my papa😌 Mum always made it sound so smooth I grew up with 0 fear of childbirth (despite going through an ob-gyn medical drama phase), so I'm more scared about pregnancy than the birth itself lol
Interesting! I thought my pregnancy was super easy. The birth was a bit harder but way smoother than anyone I know who's given birth in a hospital. Why are you more scared of pregnancy?

it's hard to hear baby cry but giving others the chance to learn how to soothe her in their own way will make your and her life easier. Just like you have a learning curve, so does dad. It's way harder for Dad in a way. They don't have the natural instinct and don't tend to get as much time with baby as mom to learn baby's cues and behaviors. Feel free to message me any time, questions or just to talk ❀️

write it soon! it is really crazy how fast the memory of childbirth fades. In the time right after it feels so life changing and that you'd never forget it but for some reason it does. Maybe it doesn't happen to everyone but it did for me. I regret not journaling more about it in the early days.
Yea, dad tries his best! He has become an expert swaddler, burper, and diaper changer. And found out she likes to be held like a football! But sometimes she is inconsolable and that's the toughest time 😣 Thank you! I appreciate it, and will likely reach out! Are nostr DMS OK? ❀

I just feel like pregnancy is 9 months of anxiety and praying nothing goes wrong 🫠 the idea of another person sitting inside of kind of freaks me out too🫠
I honestly forgot I was pregnant until month 7. That's when I started to show. Your body does a good job of protecting baby if everything is in order. It was a little weird when baby started kicking, but it became a kind of game πŸ˜‚ I would poke back.
