We're in the process of building a coop. When you have a chance would you mind posting a picture of yours? I'm curious to see how a real chicken coop should be.

Everyone has different ideas/needs. We have 2 of these, identical because we have 16 hens right now, and we just got another batch of new chicks. We started with the metal dog runs from Tractor Supply, added solid walls on 3 sides and a metal roof. Our summers are very hot, so we left the front wall open (just the metal framing). Also, i like the dog runs cuz they are tall enough to walk inside. We went this route after having predator issues a couple years ago (bobcat). So the 2 coops are inside a very large run made of metal fencing, plus a single strand of electric wire near the top. You may not need the extra protection, depending on where you live. Oh, and the automatic chicken doors are a game changer for me. They open/close at dawn/dusk automatically. Mine are battery operated, but they sell solar ones too.
