I'm part of the GrapheneOS Foundation (see: GrapheneOS matrix account) but I'm not developing but working on their operations side of things. I do look at what is happening internally with development.
Outside of GrapheneOS I work in digital forensics for a security operations center. That takes up most of my time and that's where my passion sits. If you see any technical content by the project then chances are I'm the one who wrote some of it.

Almost all GrapheneOS developers aren't online facing anymore due to violent attacks and credible threats on the few people that did work under their real name, so it's mostly just me or MetropleX on my lonesome.
Can you tell us more about this?
The founder of GrapheneOS was swatted (prank calling armed police to their location to try and escalate an attack) multiple times up to April 2023.
A past contributor received bogus legal threats to himself sent to his university, which he released:

The current GrapheneOS lead developer is Ukrainian who had been conscripted in the war there.
We've been aware of people in other projects recieving a toxic working environment. The DivestOS developer quit over this.
When you're taking on the cartels, this is the result.
