I'll probably implement it app-wide eventually, so it filters out notifications, DMs, everything that you don't follow.
The idea that @mar came up with is actually an extremely good idea and innovative.
Here is a scenario:
I come across a post by someone in Japan, if I apply "My Following" filter the thread will be empty. With the "Author Following", I will see a full thread without spam, without bots, exactly what the original poster should be seeing and want.

On the other side of this though, that would have the effect of significantly restricting discovery, which is problematic for a "young" network like this.
As you've seen from my interest list, ~95% of it is stuff that has basically zero discussion on Nostr. I want anyone who's *actually* showing up to be able to find and discuss things that I'm hashtagging.
For now, for me at least, words-based filtering (plus maybe WoT) still works for most spams/scams... Because, like say "The Board," they still need you to go to some external website or channel in order to monetize.
(Interestingly, we still haven't seen the Nostr-native spam attempting to directly monetize using native protocols like Zaps...)
