A layer called the tapetum lucid in behind the retina that humans don’t have. It reflects light back into the retina to help with night vision! #TIL


Love curious kids and the things they notice. Never too many questions! Check out goat eyes, too. When I was teaching 4th grade we helped students learn about adaptation; both the nocturnal eyes and grazer eyes are so interesting.

Love me some tapetumlucidum. My friend was a veterinarian and I learned about it when we took our boys off roading one night and came across some deer. Been using that word many night since then. Such a fun word😁
