Again, sharing for context. I think it’s important to recognize how folks in other spaces, particularity those without a background in software, view and respond to issues that are being addressed in this space. I went in the trenches about TIDAL today - I’m trying to humble myself with how to best convey new concepts. I’m not very popular. This was my response: “Tidal developers have hinted that they will implement the Bitcoin lightning network, as Block has recently shown with Square and Cash App. These moves have been some of the first from major platforms to implement open protocol standards. For Tidal, this tech could mean real time royalty settlements or the ability for users to tip artists directly without 3rd parties. There has been much talk on this page about legislation reform and justified criticism of currency systems, but little mention of the open source developers who have been making strides from Napster to now. My advice to any serious young musician, would be to reallocate a fraction of practice time to studying computer science, particularly the history of decentralized systems. It’s unreasonable to assume everyone can become a software expert, but the fundamentals will help anyone recognize new tools when they arrive. I hope this message comes off as nothing but constructive.”

Absolutely. That’s what we’re all doing here. The challenge I’d like to address is how to teach others about the tools that enable v4v to exist. The tech we use is still very much a foreign concept to most. I believe anywhere Bitcoin is implemented in the mainstream will be progress for what we build here.
Same. I tip my hat to any major platform implementing Bitcoin and open standards, as I believe it will only help adoption elsewhere.
You and I, and likely many in this space know Wavlake is awesome. Our challenge is how do we teach others to appreciate and utilize these standards? I’m willing to meet anyone where they’re at. I do believe that any major platform implementing Bitcoin and open standards will only improve decentralization elsewhere.
Couldn’t agree more. It’s definitely a process, probably a bit slower than we’d like — but at least we’re finally moving in the right direction. The broader public will come around once they see a few clear success stories, and that’s when curiosity kicks in. The Tidal move will likely accelerate that momentum even more — just as you predicted.
Get out and speak to new musicians. I do. We have 6 new artists publishing on rss. We have a big live gig this Saturday night in Manchester (live streamed over at @Bitfest npub) slowly but surely he will come.
Great work. I’m doing so all the time. Really trying to focus on the right language to use for certain spaces that are clearly trying, just may not have the technical background. Have fun in Manchester. I really wanted to be there and will be keeping tabs on any live streams and updates.
