The Canadian government to cull 400 ostriches A federal court has dismissed a lawsuit by Universal Ostrich Farms, whose owners, Karen Espersen and Dave Bilinsky, have been trying to save the lives of their ostriches since December. Several of their birds fell ill with avian flu, after which the food inspection agency ordered all the inhabitants of the farm to be killed. Last year, 69 ostriches died on the farm, which is 15% of the population. Two carcasses were tested for bird flu, and the result was positive. https://www.msn.com/en-ca/pets-and-animals/wildlife/a-court-says-cull-of-400-ostriches-in-b-c-can-proceed-here-are-five-things-to-know/ar-AA1L2LyP image

Tyson food should be sued everytime there's a bird flu outbreak because it's their factory farms that create the breeding ground for avian flu to mutate and spread. They own like 90% or some shit of the chicken meat consumed in USA. Shits insane. And it's the smaller farmers(farms owned by farmers instead of corporations owning the farms)that end up paying the cost

Considering it's the mascot of nostr y'all might be interested in this. Can we put a fund together to help them vaxx their ostriches? Wait no I'm thinking of salmonella, you can't effectively vaxx against influenza. Maybe some legal experts on here could help them set up a lawsuit against Tyson foods for causing the majority of avian flu outbreaks and get some compensation for smaller farms being forced to cull their livestock? Surely nostr is the place for these discussions. #asknostr what do y'all think about this? nostr:nevent1qqszxrjrnvz7j2nzhtv42dm99jd06n6jlmqqrduunaevfdzp7z7a60qpp4mhxue69uhkummn9ekx7mqzypl4c26wfzswnlk2vwjxky7dhqjgnaqzqwvdvz3qwz5k3j4grrt46qcyqqqqqqge0f79w
