Lincoln was so opposed to slavery, that he enslaved tens of thousands through conscription to fight a war against it.

Is the same thing.
Fought over a States "right" to choose to have slaves.
Not to mention choosing to only free slaves in certain states instead of the whole U.S.
Agreed, ideally the founding fathers wouldn't have allowed slavery in the constitution to start with.
