No. It’s not required to use w Damus either.

In Damus, go to your profile and edit it there, not in the settings. Also make sure you use zap.army to zap notes

When I go to add a new lightning address, the Damus UI indicates it’s a requirement… but will try messing with it

I’m looking to both send and receive zaps from the same Lightning wallet. Is that also possible or I can only receive zaps with this configuration?

Ok I was able to zap Zeus account’s reply above but when I tried to zap your reply I got a failed payment. I also have to open Zeus to confirm the payment - I think with NWC, it would remove some of that friction?

That used to be my setup but it would fail most times. I think connecting to nostr:npub1getal6ykt05fsz5nqu4uld09nfj3y3qxmv8crys4aeut53unfvlqr80nfm is the best way to do it but I haven’t tried yet. And this isn’t the fault of Zeus or Damus. It’s because Apple has Damus by the balls and there needs to be work arounds zap posts or Apple will remove Damus from the App Store.

I see. I got a DM with similar feedback. I have been on Alby free tier for a while but they’re shutting down that product. If I can’t get this working smoothly maybe I will check their new paid tier or one of the ecash solutions. Do any of the ecash wallets support NWC?

Idk if cash supports NWC. I am far from a power user. I will eventually get a paid alby subscription once I get the proper setup. It’s important to support the devs. They do a lot of thankless work. Zaps received. Currently I can only receive zaps as I have it set to my nostr:npub1v5ufyh4lkeslgxxcclg8f0hzazhaw7rsrhvfquxzm2fk64c72hps45n0v5 wallet. I haven’t figured out how (or if you can) zap from there.

100% I’m totally fine with paying for the product, but I think there is some amount of KYC. Will check it out. This is just for zaps so just looking to keep balance of maybe 100k sats at once. Just want an easy setup to both send and receive zaps, without KYC (email registration is fine).

Same here. I haven’t found a perfect solution for myself yet. I think running iOS doesn’t help.

Is there an easier way to do this via iOS default wallet selector? I don’t see an option.

You need to have an ancient technology of e-mail to use it... but noone even checks if it's yours ;) Just use nonKYC e-mail provider, voila!

The problem is non KYC Email accounts are getting hard to register.

You still need an email address for SimpleLogin. You might need to provide your other email to create a Proton account too. It was way easier a few years ago.

i’ve had no issues creating a proton account but yes that was years ago not sure about sign up process now
