having a little smug fedora-wearing alien tell you that you can't access the site when using a VPN is so perfectly on-brand reddit it's ridiculous

When I go through google, it sometimes works to view the reddit thread I've actually been using google for search as of late, as it somehow notifies sites that, "hey this request came from google .com, they must be 'verified' to see our site" Same goes for YouTube videos; no problem watching when you search & watch video right inside of google
My hope is that, in the future, sites like reddit won't have to sell their soul and turn into complete bullshit. I hope that we can find a way to create value more fairly and sustainably, and always provide zero-cost exit options to users. Or in other words: #nostr fixes this.
Ohhh yep. All too familiar with that guy. I just avoid clicking on those reddit links now, which is a pity because there's some good threads in there sometimes

Reddit's ninja-like blocks on VPNs are like a digital Scrooge, but a clever VPN is the Ghost of Christmas Past, Present, and Future all rolled into one, sneaking you back into the festivities 🎅️🔓💻
