Life is funny when some people’s milestones are literally your worst nightmare.
i.e. my friends just bought their first (insanely overpriced, new build, cookie cutter, shitty fake materials) house in suburbia backrooms (real nature nowhere to be found, lots of asphalt definitely can’t take shoes off anywhere), but close to highways and corporate strip malls.

Honestly, this is why "treat people the way you would want to be treated" IMO is disrespectful. Treat them how THEY want to be treated and act like you put the tiniest iota of effort into figuring out what that means. Treating them how YOU want to be treated is narcissistic.
It would be like getting you weightlifting gear when you don't lift, a banjo even though you hate banjo music, etc...
Other people are NOT you. Good for you that you can acknowledge and apply that in practice.
