Is there any method of bot spam protection? Ratings can easily be hijacked if any npub can rate. Perhaps different modes of viewing ratings can be selected, "rated by" filters or some such.

If you're logged in be default the ratings would be from your WoT, similar for the metadata on movies. I'm still working ratings aggregations, it works ATM, but it is bandwidth intensive.

Could use the ASIN amazon identifier for now and assign new ones after amazon dies. Or UPC...

Good idea, I'm just not sure what would be a good aggregation UI, but the NIP does allow rating based on any universal ID

I was chatting a bit with @ManiMe about data aggregation and the likelihood of services emerging that handle the computation, caching, and serving of important metrics like that for a small fee. I’m pretty sure the field is young, but I’m really excited to see where it goes!
