Have your ever read Spinoza?

I haven’t read Spinoza’s original works, but I took several university philosophy courses where we discussed his ideas, and I’ve also read some secondary literature. As far as I understand him, he wasn’t really an atheist—he redefined God as the one substance underlying everything (Deus sive Natura). That’s why I’m curious why you mention Spinoza.

Of course, an atheist is free from religion, but not necessarily from dogma.

I read it in my teens and, until recently, I hadn't realized his influence on the way I see the world.
