Pretty much how we started! I just wish the path to professional sports wasn’t via college. I need to look into the European sports process as my son really is only interested in college because of playing Basketball.
And by day 7 they are back in school, as you realise how exhausting home schooling is!
Aren't there little league type teams he can join while getting coached ? He can be like Kobe who ended up playing professionally without going via the college route
Natural Learning > Homeschooling
Brazil has had a case where a girl who was educated at home was smarter than a public school student.
Many such cases
Literally the norm
They have since changed the rules and Kobe’s father was a former professional Basketball player so he had ins that most wouldn’t. Kinda like Bronny.
Never thought about it like that. Rest assured that most don’t make it to the pros anyway.
That is so true.
Yes, for high schoolers it’s AAU or sports brand sponsored leagues such as Nike’s EYBL, and Puma has one too.
There are also a few newer leagues like the Amen brothers came up through (I forget its name) but those are adult/college age.
That being said, most pro teams want to see the player has come through some sort of program that has developed the player vs just showcasing them.
And the D1 and even top tier D2 colleges these days, are more professional than developmental since NIL money is present
